What textbooks for first-year Engineering to buy?
This is less what textbooks are worth getting as what actual textbooks can you get for each course. All I have found is Calculus One and Several Variables for Maths 1A.
What is the equivalent for Physics 1A? Both of those 1B? Are there any engineering specific textbooks? Any advice is appreciated :)

I am currently overseas and not back until 2 days before term starts. I have accepted and enrolled but was wondering if I can get my ID card on the first day of uni? Will I need the card on the first day?

How well do Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering complement each other?

I have accepted an offer into business but my other degree I did last year at uts has not been withdrawn yet, how do I withdraw it?

How do I solve this pedigree problem?
So I'm not really sure how we are suppose to know which one it is. I'm guessing it's sex-linked or Mendel's laws. Is there a way to know which one it is??

Past half-yearly papers ?
Is there a place where I can get some past half-yearly papers for subjects like Maths, Bio, etc?

Do these happen in HSC maths marking?
-what happens when I do working out for a question but decide to do a different method- which one gets marked?
-what if I wrote the correct answer/ working out but cross it out?
-would I lose marks if I didn't make the answer "pretty"? e.g. writing -1+x+x^2 instead of x^2 + x -1
-from above what if I write the not so pretty version correctly but then the pretty one with a silly mistake? Would they disregard the last thing?
I'm not sure if maths tries to give marks

Travel Concession for this year?
I called student central (didn't want to go to uni unless I know I'm going to get the conc, it's 2 hours away) and asked about travel concessions and they said not until late Feb? Surely that can't be right. Other students were already talking about how they got theirs.
Anyone know if the rep was wrong or if there really aren't any travel concs until late Feb? Would suck for these bridging courses coming up.

Questions- School Marks- Motivational help
Hey guys,
So I just got back most of my assessments from last year. I had some pretty mixed results. I was just wondering is it possible to still get a band 6 with a first assessment mark of 75%. Well, I know it is, so it's a pretty stupid question. Seeing as the weighting was 15%, which becomes 7.5%, it's just that i really need to hear it from someone else who was in a similar situation. Someone who knuckled down. I'm really struggling, mostly fearing that what if I do all the study, work really hard and it doesn't pay off. I know it might be pretty stupid to have that mindset, seeing as doing something is better than nothing, however it is extremely hard to shake off that mindset. As well as the fact when I find myself studying, I start to wonder... What if?. So I guess the reason for this thread is to listen to the different perspectives and advice I can receive. I'm aiming for and atar of 90+ for an entry into a commerce course.
Also, are you guys revising maybe perhaps once a week, your first topics for each subject so it's still fresh in your mind. I might start doing maybe a couple of multiple choice questions and maybe short answers from each topic last year once a week, just to revisit this. Do you guys have any other strategies I can use. Another question?( Sorry) I have my Mid Course exams in week 8/9, so in 7-8 weeks. What would you guys do?, I've heard of Writing notes for 1-2 weeks, Then learning them and applying them for 2 weeks, or something along the lines of that.

Usyd Offer
I received an offer to USYD and accepted it, but received another offer from another university and no longer need it. I've haven't enrolled at usyd yet. Do I just leave it or call them up to withdraw from the offer?
